Robert Fix

Robert W. Fix, 92, of Exeter Township, passed away December 13, 2010 at 5:18 am in Berkshire Center. He was the husband of Ethel I. (VanPelt) Fix. Born in Gibraltar, he was the son of the late William Q. and Annie V. (Garman) Fix. Mr. Fix was a master electrician and foreman for Medlar Electric of Reading for many years before retiring in 1980. He moved to Oakridge, TN in 1943 to work on the government project named the "Manhattan Project". He loved taking care of his family and home and also enjoyed gardening and crabbing and clamming in Bay City, DE. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Jack R. Fix of Pottsville and his daughter Elaine M. wife of Neil D. Scheidt of Exeter Township along with his grandchildren Crystal L. wife of Michael Balla of Exeter Township, David B. Scheidt of Clayton, NC and Darcie L. wife of Richard Willingmyre of Sinking Spring as well as 10 great grandchildren. Als survivng is his sister Ruth Zook of Exeter Township and he was preceded in death by brothers Herbert, William and George.
