Robert Copeland

Robert Bossler Copeland, 95, formally of Shillington, died at Berks Heim December 17th, where he resided since Jan. 2015.

Surviving is his wife of 71 years, Margaret "Peggy" Copeland of Shillington, Pa.

Born in Lancaster, Pa he was the Son of the late Roy Hartman Copeland and Maud (Sener) Copeland.

Robert graduated from Columbia High School, Lancaster Pa and Bowman Technical School in watch making and repair. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force, WWII as a pilot flying a P-40 and AT-6 aircraft. He worked at Schwemmer Jeweler of Reading, for 37 years before retiring in 1986.

Before his stroke, he enjoyed playing tennis, golf, hiking, camping, traveling and canoeing.
He was a member of Shillington Church of Christ. The family would like to thank all the staff on B-1 at Berks Heim for be being so caring and making his stay more comfortable.

He was predeceased by his daughter: Susan (Larry) Ruble of New Palestine Indiana and sister: Ruth Reese.

Survivors include his children: Janet (Robert) Beilhart, of Seaford Va, Jeffery Copeland of Mohnton, and Sally Copeland of Reading.
There are 5 grandchildren, Scott (Tracey) Ruble of Wilkinson, Indiana. Douglass (Tara) Ruble of New Palestine, Indiana, Corey ( Sarah) Ruble of Avon, Indiana, Heidi ( Tim) Edwards, of Seaford, Virginia, and Matthew Beilhart of Lancaster, Pa.
There are also 9 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:30-11:00AM.
