Richard H. Thompson, 85, of Cumru Township, passed away April 25, 2010 at 11:06 am in The Reading Hosptial & Medical Center. He was the husband of Reba E.(Thompson) Thompson to whom he married December 7, 1946. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Boyd L. and Eva J. (Lineaweaver) Thompson. He was employed by Dana Corp. for 34 years as an industrial truck and crane operator retiring in January of 1981. Mr. Thompson served in the United States Army during WWII, receiving a purple heart and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Reading. He received his private pilots license and was a Ranger at Chapel Hill Golf Course. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Patricia A. Thomspson of Shillington and his son Scott R. Thompson of Kulptown. Also surviving are grandchildren Scott H. Thompson, Brett T. Thompson, James P. Brown, Michael R. Brown and was preceded in death by his grandson Bryan P. Thomspson, June 25, 2007. He is also survived by his brother, Bernard Thompson of Laureldale and his sister Arlene Hughes of Lebanon.
