Richard A. Sillhart, 82, of Spring Township, passed away July 31, 2016 in ManorCare Sinking Spring.
He was the husband of Janet L. (Huyett) Sillhart; together they celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Hesper W. and Virginia A. (Arnold) Sillhart.
Mr. Sillhart was a 1952 graduate of Wilson High School and was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church, IBEW local Union # 1898, Reading Works Pensioners Association and a life member of American Legion-Shillington. Richard was employed as an electrician for AT & T for 33 years, retiring in 1992. After his retirement he worked part-time as a messenger for Leisawitz and Heller for 4 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife Janet, are his children Mark A. Sillhart, husband of Joan M. of Sinking Spring; Dolores A. Groff of Maryland; five grandchildren Lauren, Brandon, Andrew, Karen and Joseph and a brother Glenn A. Sillhart, husband of Judy A. of Wernersville.
Richard enjoyed playing pinochle and spending time with family and friends.

Services will be held in West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Avenue, Reading, PA 19609, Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10:00am, Rev. Terry Cooney officiating. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
