Richard Reeser

Richard T. Reeser, 89, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away November 2, 2015 in the Reading Hospital.
He was the widower of Janet C. (Coombs) Reeser, who passed away November 13, 2014.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth M. (Weidman) Reeser.
Richard was a 1944 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and was a US Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, serving on church council, member of the choir and Alsace Lutheran Church Senior Club.
He was employed at F & M Mushroom, Inc. as a Foreman, retiring in 1988.
Surviving is a daughter Nancy R. Johnson, wife of Arthur R. Johnson, Binghamton, NY. He was preceded in death by his son Richard A. Reeser in 1998.
He is also survived by his seven grandchildren Douglas O. Kennedy, III his special caregiver; Laurie Woodward, wife of Jason Woodward, Pittsburgh; Andrew Kennedy, husband of Melissa, Binghamton, NY; Aric Johnson, husband of Marina, Columbus, OH; Christopher Johnson, Pittsburgh; Gretchen Reeser, NY; Abigail McConnell, Waverly, NY; six great- grandchildren Liam, Brody, Colby, Madeline, Samuel and Owen and god daughter Gretchen Green, Reading.
Funeral Services will be held in Alsace Lutheran Church, 2201 Kutztown Road, Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11:00am, Rev. Mark E. Brophy officiating. Interment will follow in Laureldale Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive relatives and friends in the Chapel at Alsace Lutheran Church 10:00-11:00am.
