Richard Meyers

Richard J. Meyers, 89, of Mohnton, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the Reading Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jane E. (Rhodes) Meyers, whom shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Richard and Grace (Wentzel) Meyers. Richard served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of St. Benedict in Mohnton and the Knights of Columbus. During his life, he was an Electrician for Conrail, retiring in 1992. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Goodhart, of West Lawn; Deborah Meyers, of West Lawn; Susan Garman, of Fleetwood; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Black, Matthew Garman , and Allison Garman. Richard is also survived by his sister Ruth Laperle of Reading.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave. Shillington, 19607 on Thursday October 4, 2018 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00am-11:00am at the funeral home.
