Richard Harris

Richard Wayne Harris, 70, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Rosewood Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Keihm) Harris for 45 years. Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Richard was the son of the late Thomas E. and Agnes (Kobler) Harris Kaumo. He was a graduate of East High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, Connecticut. Richard proudly served on submarines in the United States Navy from 1968 until his retirement in 1988. He later was director of food services for 22 years for the Skowhegan Area School District in Maine. In addition to his wife Margaret, Richard is survived by his daughters Nadezhda A. Williams of Woodside, New York; Kathleen M. Harris Brantman, wife of Charles Brantman of Temple; Megan L. Harris of Philadelphia and his grandsons Elliott and Alexander Brantman. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ronald, William and James Harris.
