Richard Good

Richard D. Good, 87, of Newark, DE, formerly of Temple, PA, passed away Saturday, January 17th in Newark Manor Nursing Care Facility, his home for the last fourteen months.

Richard was born on May 29, 1921 in Reading, PA, and was a lifelong Berks County resident. He was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School, and attended Wyomissing Polytechnic Insititute.

Richard served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945, and was stationed in Hawaii. Upon his return from the war, he married Minnie Mabry in 1946 and they moved to Temple, PA. Richard joined his father in the family business, Comfy Bedding Co. and was later employed by Textile Machine Works (Rockwell Corp) until his retirement. Richard and Minnie were members of Alsace Lutheran Church and were active in the 60 Plus Club. After the death of his wife on May 5, 2000, Richard moved to Country Meadows in Wyomissing. He moved to Delaware in November of 2007.

In addition to his wife, Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Edith Good, and his brother: Stanley Good. He is survived by his son: Thomas Good, and his wife, Susan, of Wilmington, DE, as well as his grandson: Michael Good and his wife Lindsey of Hockessin, DE, and his granddaughter: Jessica Good and her husband Steven Ortley of Somerset, NJ.
