Richard R. Bayliss

Richard R. Bayliss, 77, of Exeter Township, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 9:30 am at Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Miriam “Meme” Mohr Bayliss. Born in Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, Mr. Bayliss was the son of the late Kenneth T. and Carol (Burkey) Bayliss. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Wilkes College. Mr. Bayliss was the owner of Bayliss Oldsmobile & Saturn of Reading for 32 years. He received advanced credits from General Motors Institute. He was an avid photographer, sailor and reader. He loved shelling on Sanibel Island. Jimmy Buffet music was dear to his heart, as well as, spending time with his beloved dog Mister Finn. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bayliss is survived by his children Erin L. Yanoski wife of Richard P. Yanoski, Jr. of Mechanicsburg; Jonathan M.M. Deem husband of Heather A. Deem of Birdsboro; his grandchildren Chance, Maycee, Owen, and Myles. He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Bayliss Miller.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 2:30 pm. Reverend Dr. Kris Hayden will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory Sunday from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 in memory of Mr. Richard R. Bayliss.
