Robert Anthony Burns (Bob), 86, of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 1, 2017.
He was the devoted husband of the late Margaret E. (Charlier) Burns for 57 years. Both were from McDonald, Pennsylvania. Bob was the son of Robert C. Burns and Jennie (DeCola) Burns.
He is survived by his sister Dorothy McCaffrey, his daughter Barbara Stutz and grandson Rick, and his son Rob (Maria) Burns and grandsons Joshua and Robby (Mary).
Bob was an Eagle Scout who earned three palms and continued to serve the Boy Scouts of America as an adult. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He worked for 50 years in government contracting. Upon retirement and having served in many roles for churches since his youth, he became a pastor and ministered to the homebound and hospitalized. He was a loving and generous husband, father, and grandfather. Bob considered it his greatest privilege to share the love of God with others. We rejoice as he is now with his Lord and reunited with his wife Peggy in heaven.
A Memorial Service will be held at Spring Valley Church of God, 2727 Old Pricetown Road, Temple, PA 19560 on November 15, 2017 at 1:30PM, with a visitation beginning at 12:30PM. Interment will follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens.
