Reuben Spayd

Reuben Irvin Spayd, 94, formerly of Robesonia, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019, at 8:30 a.m. in Manor Health Care Services, Sinking Spring. Born in Bern Township, Mr. Spayd was the son of the late George I. and Catherine C. (Reppert) Spayd. He owned his own business as a carpenter and contractor under R.I. Spayd. Mr. Spayd was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing golf, hunting, watching baseball, football and wrestling on television; was a fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Giants; was a member of the NRA and a supporter of the Republican Party and former President George Bush. He is survived by his children: Nancy Dietrich, wife of Charles Dietrich, of West Wyomissing, Linda Frymoyer, wife of George Frymoyer, of West Wyomissing, Robert Spayd, husband of Paula Spayd, of Lititz, and Pamela Shultz, of Mount Penn; and his 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Spayd was preceded in death by his brother, Leroy Spayd.
Funeral service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Kerry L. Hicks will officiate.
Interment will follow in St. John's (Hain's) Church Cemetry. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home on Wednesday, 12:00-2:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
