Raymond (John) Hafer, Jr.

Raymond (John) Hafer, Jr. 96, of West Lawn passed away on June 7, 2021 at home.  He is survived by his son, John R. Hafer, West Lawn, PA, daughter, Shelley M. Domsicz, Delray Beach, FL, sister Grace (Hafer) Walter, Shillington PA and numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews.  He was the devoted husband to Doris (Lascomb) Hafer for 67 years who passed away November 12, 2018.

Born June 5, 1925 in Stony Creek Mills, PA.  He was the son of late Raymond Hafer and Bertha (Siedel) Hafer.  In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his grandson, Adam Domsicz and siblings Charles, Elton, Harold, Arthur, Martha (Hafer) Garrett, Fern (Hafer) Lincoln, Betty (Hafer) Janov, Virginia (Hafer) Manel and Esther (Hafer) Teter.

John enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 serving in the South Pacific.  After completing his service duties, he was employed by Clover Farms Dairy, formally St. Lawrence Dairies, until his retirement in 1987.

John was an active young man with many talents and hobbies including, softball, bowling, woodworking and traveling.

A viewing will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA, Monday June 14th, from 10:00am – 11:00am followed by a service at 11:00am.  Interment will follow the service at Pleasant View Cemetery, 650 Fritztown Road, Sinking Spring, PA.
