Raymond Smith

Raymond L. Smith, 78, of Reading, passed away on July 6, 2015 at his residence.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harry F. and Estelle Irene (Hart) Smith.
Raymond served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in the 148th Squadron during the Korean Era.
Mr. Smith was employed as a Machinist and tool die maker for Hub Tool and Penn Optical, retiring in 2002.
Raymond and his wife April would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 28, 2015.
Raymond and April enjoyed vacationing, boating, and spending time with friends at Lake George, NY. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses from St. Joseph Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, HealthSouth, and Heartland Hospice who helped with Raymond's treatments.
He is survived by his wife: April M. Smith.
Services will be private.
The family asks no flowers be sent, and instead contributions may be made to the City of Reading K-9 Unit, Berks County Foundation, 237 Court Street, Reading, 19601.
