Ricky Ricketts, 20 years of age of Shillington died April 1, 2017 at home of Batten Disease.
Ricky is survived by his mom Marcia Miller and his 2 best friends, his sisters Rae Ricketts and Rachel Ricketts both at home.
Ricky is also survived by his grandmother Mary Miller of Reading.
Ricky attended Governor Mifflin High School. He had previously attended Exeter schools and had also been a student at Mifflin County High School in Lewistown, PA.
Ricky brought so much joy to so many people. His contagious laugh and captivating smile touched everyone. Ricky participated in the Exeter Wrestling Program for a few years. Ricky did not let his blindness stop him from participating in swimming, horseback riding, T-Ball, golf, bowling, laser tag, rock climbing, driving bumper cars and playing his favorite movies and music, especially "Fergie" of the Black Eyed Peas. Ricky loved cheese fries, pineapple soda and McDonald's burritos.
With Ricky's love of playing practical jokes on everyone, it's so fitting that God would call Ricky to heaven on "April Fool's Day"
Ricky is also survived by his father Raymond Ricketts III and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A sincere thank you to Nurse Jess from Hospice Community Care of Lancaster County who took such special care of Ricky these last 2 weeks at home. A huge thank you to Dr. Raymond Hubbard and nurse Mary Friebel, who took this Batten Disease journey with Ricky the last 15 years with their help, comfort and compassion.
