Rayetta L. (Monyer) Barnhardt

Rayetta L. (Monyer) Barnhardt, 63, of Oley, passed away at home on Thursday, March 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Geraldine (Kepley) and the late Raymond Monyer. She was the loving wife of Donald Barnhardt and together they shared 43 years of marriage. She graduated from Governor Mifflin, later obtaining her bachelor’s in nursing from Alvernia University. Rayetta worked as a kindhearted nurse at the Reading Hospital – first in the rehab center and later as a registered nurse specialized in wound care. She cared deeply for her patients and strived to be the best nurse she could be. She loved crafting, baking, and being in nature, whether she was feeding the birds or planting her garden. Rayetta loved spending time with her family and cherished being “Gmom” to her grandpuppy, Ziva.

In addition to her beloved husband, Donald and her mother, Gerry, Rayetta is survived by her children, Karoline Barnhardt, of Exeter and Daniel Barnhardt, husband of Dr. Dinuli Delpachitra of Glen Head, NY, and her sister, Barbara, wife of Robert Kline of Exeter.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 12:00pm in Bean Funeral Home, 1605 Rockland Street, Reading, PA 19604. Celebrant Amy S. Landis to officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00pm in Bean Funeral Home, Reading.
