Ralph M. Rentschler, 80, of Wernersville, passed away suddenly February 11, 2010 at 1:44 PM at his residence after being stricken while shoveling snow. He was the husband of Mabel E. (Althouse) Rentschler. Born in Shartlesville on July 21, 1929, he was the son of the late Robert and Emma (Kiene) Rentschler.
Mr. Rentschler was employed for 38 years at Dana Corp., Parish Division in Reading. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Wernersville and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ralph was a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 6558 in Womelsdorf, a Life Member of the former American Legion Post in Bernville and a member of The Loyal Order of Moose in Hamburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter Carol A. Dorn wife of Ronald L. Dorn of South Heidelberg Twp., a grandson Mitchel S. Dorn companion of Jennifer Busch of Lower Heidelberg Twp. A sister Beatrice (Rentschler) wife of Joseph Meitzler of Schuylkill Haven, a brother Ray Rentschler of Shartlesville and a half sister Bertha (Reber) widow of Isadore Oler of Womelsdorf and several nieces and nephews He was predeceased by a granddaughter Teresa L. Dorn in 1987 and 2 brothers Oscar Rentschler and Charles Rentschler.
