Phyllis Overman

Phyllis D. (Grieff) Overman, 81, of Lincoln Park, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Phoebe Berks Nursing Home, where she had been a patient since March 25th.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Irvin D. Grieff and Stella (Spohn) Grieff.

She was the widow of John J. Overman, who passed away in 1980.

She was a 1945 graduate of Reading High School, and received her Bachelors in Home Economics from Catawba University in North Carolina.

She worked as a Home Economics teacher in North Carolina and in the Boyertown School District, and later assisted with the Elementary Reading Program in the Reading School District. She was a member of First United Church of Christ in Reading.

She is survived by her son: David J., husband of Caitlin M. Overman of Lincoln Park; and two grandchildren: Michael and Kristin.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is pre deceased by a granddaughter: Nikki Overman, who passed away in 2004
