Phillip M. Lauer, 79, of Spring Township, passed away Saturday December 30, 2023 at 9:00 am at Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Annmarie T. (Wurster) Lauer. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Lauer was the son of the late William Leo Lauer and Florence T. (Doughtery) Lauer. He was a member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church and served in the United States Army and Merchant Marine during the Vietnam War. Mr. Lauer was a stationary engineer for Seafarers International Union until his retirement. He served as a volunteer fireman for the City of Reading and was a Station Engineer at Ludens Candy in Reading. Mr. Lauer was also the owner of Lauer Security in the 1980’s. In addition to his wife Mr. Lauer is survived by his children Kathleen T. Beeman wife of Jeffrey Beeman, Jr. of Strausstown; Patricia A. Iezzi of Sinking Spring; Mark A. Lauer of Sinking Spring and his 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Wilbert Lauer.
Prayer Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 am. Interment with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
