Phillip (Phil) Hetman, 28, of Alsace Township, passed on to be
with his Lord Thursday, October 8, 2015.
Being fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), Phil was
born in Reading, PA. He was the son of Eric and Constance
(Johnson) Hetman, and the best big brother to his sister Carlee
Hetman and their dog Bella. Surviving along with his family are
his Grandmothers: Helen A. Johnson, and Ethel (Nordby)
Hetman, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Phil was an inspiring young man to those who knew him. Born
with medical needs, he trusted in the Lord to see him through
life's challenges, and was always more concerned about others
first.
Phil graduated National Honor Society from Oley Valley 2005-
2006, and had attended RACC part time for WEB design. He
was great at writing, tried to patent a wheelchair assistive
device, and his latest niche was recycling his feeding cans into
his creations called "Promo Lights" for others to enjoy.
Phil had many passions: helping out by pulling things with his
wheelchair, love of animals, music (singing in the school and
church choir, and going to concerts), dancing, drawing (trucks
and trains), NASCAR, and sitting up front in our RV as copilot
while traveling around the United States to see God's
handiwork.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the
Joshua Frase Foundation, by mail to: P.O. Box 241, Ponte
Vedra Beach, FL32004, or online at: joshuafrase.org.
A Celebration of Phillip's life will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, North 16th & Rockland Sts, Hampden Heights, Reading, Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 7:00pm, Rev. Russell E. Weidel officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday 5:00-7:00pm and Thursday 10:00-11:00am to follow with a procession to Sinking Spring Cemetery for burial.
