Penny Rickenbach

Penny Ann Rickenbach, 68, passed away at her residence, on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Marilyn and Earl Rickenbach.  Penny was a 1971 graduate of Hamburg Area High School.  Penny received a Bachelors Degree from Kutztown University, a Master’s of Arts Degree from Alfred University, and a Nursing Degree from Kutztown University. Penny had several careers before working as a Registered Nurse. As a nurse, Penny loved being the care provider for a beautiful special needs school girl. Penny was an accomplished artist proficient in drawing, ceramics and watercolor painting.  Penny enjoyed world travel, botany walks, orchids, gardening, bird watching and spending time outdoors at her home. Penny was strong and independent, as well as warm and loving. Penny’s genuine friendship, generous spirit, kindness and support will be greatly missed by her friends and especially by her life partner of 33 years, Byron Scott Fiegel.

Penny is survived by her partner, Byron Scott Fiegel, a sister, Susan Gumpher, a niece Robyn Blank, and a nephew Barron Himmelberger.

Services and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Penny’s memory, to The Pine Creek Valley Watershed Association, P.O. Box 239 Oley, PA 19547.
