Paul J. Zillhardt, 81, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 6:45 pm in Spruce Manor. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Sperber) Zillhardt. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William Frank Zillhardt and Viola I. (Bright) Hinkle. Mr. Zillhardt was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School and graduated from Wyomissing Poly Tech and Penn State University, Berks Campus. He was employed by Rockwell International as a mechanical engineer and then as a project engineer at Dana Corp. In addition to his wife Barbara, Mr. Zillhardt is survived by his sons Jeffrey M. Zillhardt, husband of Marshia Zillhardt of Newmanstown; David A. Zillhardt, husband of Amy Zillhardt of Pottstown; Daniel Zillhardt of Mohnton; Scott A. Hiester of Reading; Alan M. Hiester, husband of Lori Hiester of Kenhorst and Dennis A. Hiester, husband of Kathleen Hiester of Shillington and his grandchildren Lindsey; Katrina; Denielle; Michael; Dennis, Jr.; Zachary; Ashton; Emily; Matthew; Brian; Melissa and great grandchildren Abigayle; Jack; Paisley and Gianna. Also surviving is his sister Doris M. Hettinger, wife of Brian E. Hettinger of Kenhorst. Mr. Zillhardt is also survived by nieces, nephews and additional relatives in the Lancaster County area. The family of Mr. Zillhardt would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Spruce Manor and Berks Visiting Nurses Association-Hospice, for their care and compassion. Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 am. Mr. Mark Howells will officiate.
