Paul L. Hacker, 77, of Reading, passed away March 16, 2010 at 8:06 PM in Hershey Medical Center where he was a patient for 8 days. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Fick) Hacker. Born in Reading on June 15, 1932, he was the son of the late Catherine M. (Grube) Ferrara and the late John Hacker.
Mr. Hacker was a graduate of Reading High School and DeVry Technical Institute. He served in the US Marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict and was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Hacker was a boy scout volunteer and Scoutmaster of Troop # 305 at St. Joseph RCC, a board member of Leesport Gun Club, an expert on Gettysburg and the battle fought there during the Civil War and the writer of several published books.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter Sandra A. (Hacker) Boone of Reading and a son Paul G. Hacker husband of Melissa Hacker of Exeter Twp. and 4 grandchildren Lauren A. Boone, Corey L. Boone, Matthew Hacker and Christopher Hacker.
