Paul W. Eckert, 79, of Oley Township, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Laura A. (Fritz) Eckert. Born in Rockland Township, he was the son of the late William B. and Catherine (Delp) Eckert. Mr. Eckert was a member of the United States Army National Guard and was a member of St. John Hill United Church of Christ in Boyertown. He was a Foreman at Saucony Shoe in Kutztown as well as a Mechanic for Earl L. Rhoads Garage in Rockland Township. He late was Shoe Shop Foreman at Graterford State Prison for 25 years, retiring in 2004. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Deborah E. Sands, wife of John M. Sands of Oley; Sandra P. Hilbert, wife of Bruce R. Hilbert of Ruscombmanor Township and Karen L. Fegley, wife of Kevin R. Fegley of Fleetwood. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tiffany Sands; Kristin Weaver, wife of Brian Weaver; Jonathan Sands, husband of T. Cochil Sands; Stephen Fegley, husband of Lauren Fegley; Andrew Fegley; Jennifer Fegley and Benjamin Fegley along with his great grandchildren Landen Fegley; Olivia Weaver; Brantley Fegley; Mackenzie Fegley and was preceded in death by his great granddaughter Emily Marie Weaver. Mr. Eckert is also survived by his brother Earl Eckert of Fleetwood and his sister Anna Mae Steffey of Wyomissing and was preceded in death by his brothers James and William Eckert and sister Sally Sicher.
Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
