Paul Bitler

Paul R. Bitler, 86, of Kenhorst, passed away Wednesday, March 4th at 8:10 a.m. at home.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Irvin Bitler and Julia C. (McMahon) Bitler.

He was the husband of Kathryn J. (Romanisko) Bitler, at home.

He was a 1941 graduate of Reading High School, and 1949 graduate of Albright College.

He was a US Army Air Force Veteran, serving with the 8th Air Force, 388th Bombardment Group located in Knettishall, England.

He worked as a sales representative for Atlantic Richfield for many years. After retirement, he worked part time with the Energy Assistance Program in the Berks County Office of Welfare.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters: Patricia E. (Bitler), wife of Michael Smith of Kenhorst, Jeanne L. Bitler of Emmaus, Judith L. Bitler of Cumru Twp.; and a son: James P. Bitler, husband of Leslie S. Bitler, of Mohnton.

There are also five grandchildren: Amy E. Smith, wife of Steven Bortz, Jillian Smith, wife of Adam Lynch, Matthew J. Smith, fiance of Ashley Potts, and Bradley J. and Marc C. Bitler; and one great granddaughter: Capri S. Smith.

He is also survived by his aunt: Angela (McMahon) Kissinger.

He was pre deceased by a son-in-law: Joseph S. Donches.

Services and Entombment will be private at Gethsemane Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
