Otto S. Lefkowith, 89, of Kenhorst, passed away January 13, 2016 in Penn State Health-St. Joseph.
He was the husband of Dorene L. (Heckman) Lefkowith.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Simon and Helen (Friedman) Lefkowith.
Mr. Lefkowith was an Army veteran, serving during World War II, where he received the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, two Purple Heart Medals, Army Occupation Medal (Japan), Philippine Liberation Ribbon and World War II Victory Ribbon.
Otto was the former owner of Keystone Container Company, Inc. in Reading from 1946 until 1982. He later worked for Auto Locator from 1984 until October 2014.
Surviving in addition to his wife Dorene is a son Gary L. Lefkowith; daughter Nancy A. Cabrera; step-daughters Robin C. Riegel and Kelly C. Witwer. Other survivors include two granddaughters, two step grandsons; step great- granddaughter and step great- grandson and his brother Dr. Edwin Lefkowith along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Gerald Lefkowith in 1995.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Lefkowith's memory to American Heart Association, 968 Postal Road, Allentown, PA 18109.
A Memorial Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 129 East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11:00am. The family will receive relatives and friends 10:00-11:00am. Burial will be private in Fairview Cemetery.
