Nancy Haggerty

Nancy L. Haggerty, 82, formerly of Shillington, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center. Born in Reading Mrs. Haggerty was the daughter of the late Carl F. and Violet F. (Moore) Himmelreich. She was a graduate of Reading High School and a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. Mrs. Haggerty was an operating room nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for 33 years retiring December 23, 1994. She was an avid sports enthusiast and fan who attended Governor Mifflin and Conrad Weiser sporting events and was especially proud to attend and follow her grandson Patrick(#33) play football for Villanova University. She was loved by her family and also her friends, whom she enjoyed going to dinner with and socializing with a drink. Mrs. Haggerty was a Loving Mother to her son Jeff S. Haggerty, husband of Ginnie L. Haggerty of Shillington and her daughter Jenny L. Messner, wife of Larry R. Messner of Adamstown. She was a Loving Grandmother to Lamar Messner, Lindsey Haggerty and Patrick Haggerty. She is also survived by her sister Shirley M. Potts, wife of the late Gerald R. Potts of Shillington.
The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 2-4:00 pm. Interment will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Berks County 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604 in memory of Mrs. Nancy L. Haggerty.
