Miriam left us to be with her heavenly Father at the age of 91 on February 16, 2016, at
Hearthstone at Maidencreek, Berks County. She was predeceased in September of
2014 by her loving husband of 74 years, Lloyd Elmer Sheesley. A daughter of Newton
and Vera (McClure) Noss, Miriam was a resident of Licking Creek Valley, Juniata
County, for 70 years. She was predeceased by a son, Donald L. Sheesley, and is
survived by two daughters, Carol Spigelmyer, wife of Ottis Spigelmyer of Fleetwood,
PA, and Eleanor Long, wife of Rev. Joseph Long of Leesport, PA. Miriam enjoyed and
loved five grandchildren: Lori Novak, Lisa Laity, Dana Witman, Nathan Stimmel, and
Jennifer Dias, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Miriam was predeceased by two
brothers, Elmer Noss and Raymond Noss.

Miriam was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Licking Creek,
Mifflintown, PA, and was active in the church in many ways. She was a member of
Milford Grange #773, and previously did volunteer work at Locust Grove Village in
Mifflin.

Miriam had a very active life filled with gardening and preserving, cooking, quilting and
sewing, and lovingly caring for her family and home. She and her husband, Lloyd, did
extensive traveling, both with family and as a couple. They visited 48 of the 50 states,
Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
Miriam will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. A memorial service
will be held at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Licking Creek on Saturday, March 5,
2016, at 11:00 am, with visitors received from 9:00-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to the Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive, Suite
C, Fort Washington, PA 19134 or to Hearthstone at Maidencreek, 105 Dries Rd,
Reading, PA.
