Minnie Constantino

Minnie Constantino, (Nanny, Aunt Minnie) 99, beloved mother, adored grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother, received her angel wings on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Reading Hospital. She will be remembered most for her unwavering love and devotion to family. Minnie loved spending time in her kitchen cooking for family and friends and being a listening ear. Her compassion and great advice healed many bruises and hearts! She selflessly helped to raise all the children in the family and was always seen holding (and feeding) at least one of them! Minnie loved spending time with her grandson, Nick, and great-grandson, Joe, playing games, watching basketball, and sharing stories. Her smile and laughter filled our days and hearts with joy.
Minnie also loved her church. She was an active member of Saint John's UCC in Reading, where she taught Sunday School for 25 years and served on the Alter Guild. She once, singlehandedly, cooked all the pasta for the Church's annual spaghetti dinner!
Minnie was the loving wife of the late Dominic Constantino, who passed away September 23, 1979. Born in Reading, Minnie was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna (Cerniglia) Marabella.
Minnie is survived by her daughters Stella M. Groshel, wife of the late Frank Groshel of Pennside, and Ann Marie DeWald, wife of John DeWald of Birdsboro, her grandchildren Sue Costa-Beddall and Nick DeWald, and her great-grandson Joe Beddall. She was preceded in death by her daughter JoAnn Constantino, February 26, 2009, her brothers Sam, John, Santo, Frank, Louie, Charlie and Anthony Marabella, and her sister Mary (Marabella) Long.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 10:00 am. Reverend Donald Bertram will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Wednesday 9:00-10:00 am.
