Milton Shade Sr.

Milton E. Shade Sr., 89, of Laureldale passed away on Saturday June 27, 2020 in Reading Hospital. Born in Leesport, he was the son of the late Herman E. and Helen (Dreibelbis) Shade. Milton was preceded in death by his loving wife Charlotte D. (Hendricks) Shade.

Milton is survived by two children; Milton E. Shade Jr., husband of Mary of Ephrata and Dawn H. Pritchard of Leesport. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Eric Shade, Timothy Shade, Adrienne Drexel as well as six great grandchildren and a sister; Shirley Kauffman, wife of Norman of State College PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Donald and Russell Shade.

Milton served proudly in the US Marines Corp, he retired from the Marine Corp reserves and was employed in the export department at Glidden Paint for 44 years, He enjoyed fishing, camping, puzzles and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed attending high school football and Reading Royals hockey games. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives in Bean Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, North 16th Street and Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights on Friday July 3, 2020 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to: Marine Corps League Detachment  #465 at 550 Columbia Avenue Sinking Spring Pa 19608.
