Mildred Eckel

Mildred M. Eckel, 84, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 2:44 pm in her home. She was the wife of the late Richard A. Eckel who passed away October 15, 2003. Born in Reading she was the daughter of the late George and Marie Stubblebine. Mrs. Eckel was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mount Penn and was a secretary for Exide in Reading for many years. She will be missed by her lady friends who played cards together at the Antietam pool and also her friends at Bowl O Rama. Mrs. Eckel is survived by her sons Keith R. Eckel, husband of MaryLynn Eckel of Sinking Spring and Mark A. Eckel, husband of Lori E. Eckel of Lower Alsace Township along with her grandchildren Evan, Brandon, Olivia, Lauren and Kyle and her great grandson Everett.
Memorial Service will be held in Faith Lutheran Church 210 North 25th Street, Mount Penn Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Reverend Virginia M. Biniek will officiate. Interment will be held privately by the family in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 pm in Faith Lutheran Church.
