Mildred Ash

Mildred A. Ash, 75, of Alsace Twp., passed away June 11, 2011 in St. Joseph Medical Center where she was a patient since June 9th. She was the wife of Howard L. Ash II who passed away August 3, 2009. Born in Wilson, NC on May 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Doris (Bass) Lucas.

Mildred was employed as an LPN by St. Joseph Hospital for 4 years until retiring in 1970. She was a former Den Mother and Den Leader Coach. She was a member of Alsace Manor Mennonite Church.

She is survived by a daughter Susan P. (Ash) wife of Mark Chesser of Fleetwood, an adopted son Dennis D. Dierolf, Jr., 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers Joseph Lucas of Temple and Billy Lucas of Womelsdorf. She was predeceased in addition to her husband by two sons Howard L. Ash III and Ricky Lee Ash, a grandson Jason Dierolf and a sister Dorothy Trautwein.
