Michael Keller

Michael Lee Keller, 78, of Spring Township, Berks County, succumbed to complications from Parkinson 's disease on August 5, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born December 8, 1939 in Reading, PA to Leon James Keller and Grace Marjorie (Hollenbach) Keller.
Michael graduated from Wilson High School in 1957, where he participated in football, basketball, and baseball. In 1961, he graduated from Albright College with a degree in accounting.
From 1962-1964 Michael served in the Navy on the USS Boston, a guided missile cruiser in the Atlantic Fleet. While severing, this ship participated in the Cuban Missile Blockage.
Michael spent his career at Gilbert Associates, Prudential, and Wachovia in the field of finance. His hobbies included golf and he liked to wager with horses and cards. In his later years he loved to travel and vacation in Stone Harbor, NJ.
Michael was a member of Advent Lutheran Church of West Lawn. He had been a member of the church council. He was also a volunteer coach for basketball, football, and baseball.
Surviving along with his wife of 53 years, Joan Barbara (May) Keller, are a son: Christopher Alan Keller, and daughter-in-law Terri (Santee) Keller and a daughter: Marjorie May Haines and son-in-law Todd Patrick Haines; four grandchildren: Alexander James Keller, Zachary Quinn Haines, Nathaniel Laine Keller and Olivia Grace Haines; he is also survived by a brother: Jeffrey Alan Keller; four nephews and one niece.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:00AM, Rev. Mark Rigg officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10-11:00AM. The Interment will follow the service at St. John's (Hain's) UCC Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Advent Lutheran Church or the Parkinson Research Foundation.
