Melbourne J. Stein, 93, of Sinking Spring, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Manor Care Sinking Spring. He was the loving husband to Mary Elizabeth (Dillion) for 50 years before Mary passed in June 2009. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Melbourne was the son of the late Julius Stein and Mary (Gallos). Melbourne was a graduate of Dunellen High School, class of 1947, and went on to work as a Technical Glass Blower, at Bell Labs, in Murray Hill, New Jersey for over 33 years. Melbourne and Mary retired to Brooksville, Florida in 1984 before returning to Pennsylvanian in the 1990’s.
He is survived by his children, David A. Stein, husband of Cathy, of Saylorsburg, Daniel Stein, husband of MaryAnna, of North Ferrisburg, Vermont, Joseph Stein, of Florida, Regina Robinson, wife of Craig, of Annvile, Pennsylvania, and Richard Stein, husband of Penny, of Rutland Vermont. Melbourne is also survived by 13 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
In addition to his wife, Melbourne is predeceased by his son Alan Stein, and his brother, Robert Stein.
