Maurice Eugene “Gene” Endy, 92, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 9:00 pm at Elmcroft of Reading. He was the husband of the late Shirley Jane (Schweitzer) Endy who passed away May 9, 2019. They were married on September 22, 1951 for 67 years until her passing. Born in Reading, Mr. Endy was the son of the late Arthur and Fronia (Smith) Endy. He was a graduate of Shillington High School, Class of 1947. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Denver, PA and served in the United States Navy and then the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Endy was an International Project Engineer at the Parish division of Dana Corp. until his retirement in 1980 after 33 years. He then worked as a Project Manager for Evergreen Systems, Inc. contracting with Dana Corp traveling both domestically and internationally setting up plants in the US and Caracas, Venezuela for Dana Corp.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa Marie Wolfskill of Cumru Township; his granddaughters Kelly Wolfskill of Bernville; Kristi Pokrywa, wife of Marco Pokrywa of Sinking Spring and his great grandchildren Abigail and Brandon Pokrywa and Derrick Behney, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter Karen Ann Endy White (1995) and his sister Lois Elizabeth “Beth” Endy Snyder (2015).
He was a Life Member of Adamstown VFW Post 8795 and the Military Order of The Cootie, a Member of the American Legion Reber-Moore Veterans Association, Shillington, Member of the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing Association, and a Life Member of the Gouglersville Fire Company.
He was a wealth of information and loved to impart his knowledge, stories, and advice to anyone who would listen. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Monday, May 24, 2021 at 11:00 am. Reverend Betsy E. Bruaw will officiate. Interment with Military Honors rendered by the United States Air Force Honor Guard will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Monday 10:00 am to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Peace United Church of Christ 37 East Swartzville Road, Denver, PA 17517 in memory of Mr. Maurice Eugene Endy.
