Matthew Rundle Miller

Matthew Rundle Miller, 62, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 surrounded by family. Born on October 30, 1960, Matt was the fifth of six children of the late James Sr and Alice (Rundle) Miller. Matt’s love of music began at an early age, when he would sneak into his sister’s room to listen to records. He enjoyed singing along to a range of genres from 60/70s rock to classic musicals. Matt liked all sports, and growing up in Reading he was a fan of the Eagles and Flyers. He had a collection of hockey jerseys, many personally adorned. He enjoyed being active and completed seven marathons. His mind was just as lively, and he was known for his intelligence, wit, and great sense of humor. Matt was proud of his service in the US Marine Corps Reserve and his 30-year dedication as an electrician at Carpenter Technology until his retirement. Matt is survived by his former wife Lori A. Dubel, his daughter Laura V. Miller, and his sons Adam S. Miller, Brian M. Miller, and Sean J. Miller. With his children, Matt shared his fascination for space and the cosmos and always encouraged their infinite dreams. He is also survived by six grandchildren Yasmine, Nova, Stella, Lucas, Juniper, and Kaia. Matt leaves behind many who loved him including his siblings James A. Miller Jr, Diane Smeltzer, Joanne Schaeffer, Mark Miller, Andrew Miller, and his many nieces and nephews. Matt was a loyal friend and a kind soul. He will be missed by many.
