Mary V. (Weik) Giles

    Mary V. (Weik) Giles, 102, of Sinking Spring, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 29, 2023, in the Reading Hospital.  Born in Newmanstown, she was the daughter of the late Emma (Froelich) and Harvey Weik.  She worked as a machine operator at Textile Machine Works before retiring.  Mary was an avid reader and loved the adventure novels of Clive Cussler, she was proud to say she read 80 of his books.  Mary was addicted to word search puzzles and had a passion for alpacas.  One of her fond memories was visiting an alpaca farm and seeing a 5-day-old alpaca.  
    Mary is survived by her children, Sharon Giles, of Fleetwood, David Giles, of Sinking Spring, and Cynthia Miller, wife of Russell of Myerstown.  Also surviving is her granddaughter, Rachel Sholly, of Providence, RI.
