Mary Secoura

Mary L. Bugay Secoura, 81, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 4:35 am in Columbia Cottage of Wyomissing. She was preceded in death by her first husband Andrew W. Bugay, Sr. who passed away March 28, 1993 and her second husband Ralph J. Secoura, who passed away December 10, 2000. Born in Pottstown on September 4, 1935 at home, Mrs. Secoura was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Wentz) Kurtz. She was a member of Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington and was co-owner of Andy's Paving Service with her husband, Andrew, in Sinking Spring for 37 years. She is survived by her children Andrew W. Bugay, Jr. husband of Wendy L. Bugay of Sinking Spring; Andrea R. Carter, wife of Howard R. Carter of Sinking Spring; Debra M. Speidel of Womelsdorf and Corinne Shaak, wife of Douglas C. Shaak of Charlotte, North Carolina. Mrs. Secoura is also survived by her grandchildren Antonette; Kristin; Nicole; Heather; Zachary; Anthony and Bryson and her great grandchildren Spencer; Dylan; Piper; Kailey; Austin; Brayden; Colton and Hayden. Also, surviving is her sister Elaine Gruber of Reading, and she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Valerie, her sister Betz Marino and brothers Henry Kurtz, Jr. and Gerald Kurtz.
Mary was devoted to her family, and she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many winters in Florida with Andrew, and she traveled to Utah and Europe with Ralph. She was known as a wonderful cook especially for large family gatherings. Mary was always eager to host family get-to-togethers, and the more the merrier. However, she would "encourage" all to help. She looked forward to many casino trips with family and friends.
Funeral Procession will depart Bean Funeral Home 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church Kerrick & Mitti Roads, Shillington at 10:00 am. Reverend Richard H. Clement, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Wednesday 8:15-9:15 am.
