Mary Rundle

December 23, 1924 — May 10, 2010

Mary E. (Fick) Rundle, 85, of Reading, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been a patient for one week.


Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Leroy Fick and Marguerite (Wadlinger) Fick.


She was the widow of Milton D. Rundle, who passed away on October 6, 1996.


She was a 1942 graduate of Reading High School, and member of St. Paul's R.C.C. in Reading.


She started and was the President of the first Parent Teacher's Association at 13th & Green. She was one of the founders of the Hillside Pool Swimmers Association, and an Honorary Member of the Historical Society of Berks County. She worked the election polls for many years for the 9th Ward.


She is survived by her daughter: Barbara A. Rundle of Santa Monica, CA; and her grandson: Michael Christopher Matousek of Malibu, CA.


She is also survived by her sisters: Helen M. (Fick), wife of Carl Hollenbach of Reading; Rita C. (Fick), wife of Richard Freymoyer of Hamburg, Irene F. (Fick), widow of Arthur Auman of Reading, Charlotte A. (Fick), wife of Gerald Katzenmoyer of Reading; and brothers: Leroy Joseph "Buddy" Fick, widower of Jean Fick of Pennside, Eugene C. "Jeep" Fick, husband of Geraldine Fick of Reading, and Michael Lee Fick, husband of Isabelle Fick of Reading; and many nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents and husband, she is pre deceased by her son: William J. Rundle, who passed away on May 21, 2005; and two brothers: John and Anthony Fick.
