Mary Jane Redcay

             Mary Jane (Boyer) Redcay, 88, of Laureldale, passed away in her home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Mary E. (Kulp) and James W. Boyer. She was the loving wife of Richard G. Redcay and together they shared 66 years of marriage. Jane graduated from Reading High in 1953 and previously worked as a Salesclerk at J.C. Penny’s.  She loved collecting bells and adored the elephants at her favorite restaurant, Schmeck’s Villa. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Jane and Richard liked to travel together.  Some of their more memorable destinations were Alaska, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. 

           In addition to her husband, Richard, Jane is survived by her children; Cheryl L. Gery, of Temple, David E. Redcay, husband of Julia of Lewisburg, and Vicki M. Redcay, partner of Dan Bothell of Cheswick.  Also surviving are her grandchildren; John Heckman, partner of Francesca Eckroth, Tara Trupp, and Jennifer Wetzel, wife of Eric, her great grandchildren; Emma, Kittie, Madison, Gabriella, Keagan, Elle, and Mordecai, and her many nieces and nephews. Jane is preceded in death by her siblings, Edward J. W. Boyer, Ethel M. Young, and Anne Stoner and son-in-law, James Gery.
