Mary Post

Mary H. Post, 88, formerly of Mahanoy City, passed away September 2, 2009 at 6:20 pm in Columbia Cottage, Collegeville. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Post who passed away July 1994. Born in Shenandoah, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes(Kirk) Hoban. Mrs. Post was a 1939 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and a graduate of McCann School of Business, also in Mahanoy City. Along with her husband Charles, they operated the Charles H. Post Funeral Home, Inc. in Mahanoy City. Mrs. Post was a member of St. Fidelis Rosary Society, St. Canicus Women's Guild, mahanoy City Women's Club, Mahanoy City Elks Ladies Auxiliary and an Executive Board Member of Mahanoy City Visiting Nurses Association. She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta RCC in Mahanoy City and St. Eleanor's RCC in Collegeville. Mrs. Post is survived by her daughter Ann P. (Post) wife of Robert S. Marek of Collegeville, her granddaughters Casey L. Marek of Florida and Melissa A. (Marek) wife of John G. Halphen, Jr. of Pottstown along with her great granddaughter Madeline Merry Halphen. She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Hoban in December of 2000.
