Mary Grant

Mary Ellen Grant, 92, of Exeter Township, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Reading Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Harry R. Grant who passed away in 2006. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary Mable (Rothenberger) Messner. Mrs. Grant attended Birdsboro High School and was a lifelong member of St. Johns UCC of Birdsboro. During her life she was employed in sales at Boscovs for 25 years. She also worked at Dautrich Seafood then Aldelphia Seafood at the Reading Farmers Market. She was a resident of Berkshire Commons, where she was very well cared for. Mary Ellen was a hard worker and very caring towards her family. She is survived by her daughter, Kay L. Sweigart of Exeter; sister, Mildred A. Huyett of Exeter; grandchildren, Brian Sweigart; Beth Morgan; Andrew Shaefler; great-grandchildren, Amber Morgan; Ryleigh Sweigart; 5 nieces, 3 nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary Lou Grant, grandson, Michael P. Grant, and sister Kathryn D. Bleacher. The family would like to give a special thanks to Berkshire Commons for their special care.
Graveside Service will be held in Birdsboro Cemetery, 1018 E Main St, Birdsboro, PA 19508 on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Johns United Church of Christ of Birdsborro, 57 St John's Rd, Birdsboro, PA 19508, in memory of, Mary Ellen Grant.
