Mary Franke

Mary Anne (Grealy) Franke, 78, of Reading, and Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Manor Care Laureldale, where she had been a patient for three years.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Joseph Grealy and Dorothy (Eschedor) Grealy. She was the wife of Edward K. Franke. The couple shared 56 wonderful years of marriage.

She was a 1949 graduate of Reading Catholic High School, and graduated in 1954 from the Pottstown Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Community General Hospital in Reading for many years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. Joseph's R.C.C., Reading.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Susan M. (Franke), wife of Allen Standhardt of Oley; Donna L. Franke of Blandon; and a son: David K. Franke, husband of Teresa Franke of Blandon.

There are also three grandchildren: Robbie Lynn; Kristen, and Edward; and a great granddaughter: Keelie.
