Mary Josephine Fox, 86, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center where she was a resident since August 2013. She was the wife of the late Thomas G. Fox who passed away in 1977. Born Dec. 19, 1930 in Reading, Mrs. Fox was the daughter of the late S. Shearer and Catherine (Andes) MacCallum. She was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School and received her degree in Library Science from Kutztown University in 1952 and her master's degree in Library Science from Kutztown University in 1967. She was a librarian at Muhlenberg High School for 20 years, retiring in 1973 and a writer for the Reading Eagle Newsroom for 16 years retiring in 1994. Mrs. Fox was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution for over 60 years and served as a director. Mrs. Fox was preceded in death by her brother Malcolm T. MacCallum, October 2003, and is survived by her nephews Ross T. MacCallum, Montclair, VA.; M. Roderic MacCallum, husband of Jamie E. MacCallum, Newmanstown, PA.; Ryan S. MacCallum, Cape Coral, FL; and their families.
