Mary Butt

Mary Jane Butt, 81, formerly of Temple, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at 3:30 am in Reading Hospital. She was taken to the hospital from Berks Heim. Mrs. Butt was the wife of the late Ira G. Butt who passed away in 1982. Born in Berks County she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mabel R. (Moyer) Hafer. Mrs. Butt was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and 76ers, loved arts and crafts and enjoyed when her grandson Eric's dog Phoenix came to visit her at Berks Heim. She is survived by her daughter Deborah A. Spitz, wife of Thomas F. Spitz of Blandon and her grandson Eric M. Yoder, husband of Stephanie A. Yoder and was preceded in death by her granddaughter Angela L. Yoder in 1985 and her brother John Hafer, Jr.
Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 10:00 am. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Thursday 9:00-10:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA 18109 in memory of Mrs. Mary Jane Butt.
