Marvin Paul Heffner, 90, of Sinking Spring, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in his home. Born in Sinking Spring on the family farm, he was the son of the late Edna (Adam) and Franklin Heffner. He was the loving husband of Janet Ellen (Kline) Heffner. Together they spent 70 years of marriage and only a few weeks shy of 71 years. He graduated from Sinking Spring High School in 1952. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. During that time, he worked as an airplane mechanic. After his time in the service, he continued to work as an airplane mechanic for many airlines, the longest being Eastern Airlines. Marvin was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed making furniture. Also, he loved anything John Deere.
In addition to his wife, Janet, Marvin is survived by his children, Kerry L. Heffner, of Omaha, Nebraska and Sandra E. Brands, of Savannah, Georgia, his grandchildren, Kirstin Howell, Cheryl Bischoff, Richard Heffner, Tyler Brands, Amanda Brands, and Kameron Heffner, and 4 great grandsons. Marvin is predeceased by his daughter, Karen A. Riberio, his grandson, Brandon Clary, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Mr. Marvin P. Heffner to your charity of choice. Bean Funeral Homes, Shillington is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
