Martha Tobias

Martha J. Tobias, 83, of Wernersville, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 in her home. She was the wife of Warren W. Tobias and the couple was married on October 18, 1961. Born in Reading, Mrs. Tobias was the daughter of the late Martin L. and Laura E. (Obenhausen) Henne. She was a 1952 graduate of Reading High School and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading, were she was very active, teaching Sunday School for 15 years and was involved in the vestry and served as the Librarian at Church. She was employed by Berks County Trust Company, then American Bank, for 38 years, from 1952-1990 in customer service. In addition to her husband Warren, Mrs. Tobias is survived by her brother David Henne of Walnuttown; and her sisters Barbara Giarrizzi of Florida and Laura Trewella of Greenfields. She was preceded in death by her brother Donald Henne and her sister Marie Bucher. Mrs. Tobias is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 am. Reverend Alan Wolkenhauer will officiate. Interment will follow in St. John's (Hain's) Church Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 527 Washington Street, Reading, PA 19601 in memory of Mrs. Martha J. Tobias.
