Marlin Weitzel, Sr

Marlin D. Weitzel, Sr., 82, formerly of Reading, passed away March 27, 2016 in Berks Heim where he resided for two years.
Born in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of the late Paul B. and Evelyn G. (Osenbach) Weitzel.
Mr. Weitzel was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church in Reading. He was employed at Columbian Cutlery Company in Reading as a grinder for 44 years, retiring in 1996 and a taxi driver for Metro Taxi for many years.
Surviving are his children Marlin D. Weitzel, Jr., husband of Donna (Poll), Exeter Twp., Donald M. Weitzel, Robesonia; Mark B. Weitzel, Shillington; Linda Baker, wife of Hugh, Lubec, ME; Sherry Steffey, wife of Daniel, Shillington; Lisa Walker, wife of Robert, West Lawn; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and his brother Rev. Forrest A. Weitzel, Mohnton. He was predeceased by a brother Paul B. Weitzel, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Weitzel's memory to Open Bible Baptist Church, 10 Park LN, Reading, PA 19606 and/or Cornerstone Baptist Church, 622 Lauschtown Rd., Denver, PA 17517.
A Graveside Service will be held in Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Rd, Fleetwood, on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 2:00pm, Rev. Forrest A. Weitzel officiating.
