Marjorie Lind Simmons Weber (Jewell), 97, of Elverson passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at her home. She was the loving wife to Carl J. Weber for 42 years, before he passed on November 18, 2000. Born in Wharton, New Jersey, Marjorie was the daughter of Charles E. and Beda “Beatrice” (Johnson) Jewell. Marjorie was a class of 1942 graduate of Dover High School in New Jersey and went on to work as an executive secretary at Picanny Arsenal Military Base, Wharton, NJ and as a teacher / cafeteria aide in North Dover Elementary School, Dover, NJ. She was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church, Dover, NJ with interim membership at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Geigertown, PA.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Deborah S. Lawton, of Sarasota, Florida, and Lisa W. Mackenzie, wife of Scott James, of Elverson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Catherine R. Lawton, wife of Mary, of Natick, MA, Christopher J. Lawton of Sarasota, FL, Lyndsey E. Mackenzie, wife of Devin Harkness of Portland, OR, Ian K. Mackenzie, husband of Shannon of Florida and her great grandchildren, Kinsley and Nolan Mackenzie, Cosmo Harkness and Miles Lawton.
Marjorie is also predeceased by her first husband, Corydon (Bob) J. Simmons, who was killed in the Korean War in 1951.
Funeral Service for Marjorie will be held privately at the convenience of the family with graveside interment at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marjorie’s memory to The First United Methodist Church, 42 E. Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ 07801.
