Marilyn Hoch

Marilyn E. Hoch, 92, of Reading, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 7:30 pm in Berks Heim. She was the wife of Earl R. Hoch. Born in Royersford, Mrs. Hoch was the daughter of the late John F. and Ella M. (Gottshall) Schuman. She was a 1944 graduate of Reading High School and was a member of the former Saint Thomas United Church of Christ in Reading where she was a soprano/ soloist for more than 50 years and a member of the choir for more than 60 years, a member of the bell choir as well as teaching Sunday school and was an active volunteer. Mrs. Hoch was also a former member of Reading Civic Opera Society in the 1950's. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Lisa J. Hoch of Reading and John C. Hoch, husband of Pamela Hoch of York and her grandsons Zachary, husband of Alicia Hoch and Alexander and his fiancAC. Samantha and her great grandson Oliver James Hoch.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, North 16 & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Charles S. Nease, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Friday 12:30-1:30 pm. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
