Marilyn Firing

Marilyn J. Firing, 86, formerly of Bern Township, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 in her home. She was the wife of the late Warren H. "Pop" Firing, Jr. who passed away February 4, 2015. Born in Reading, Mrs. Firing was the daughter of the late John W. "Slim" and Catherine M. (McCoy) Slonaker. She attended Muhlenberg High School and was a successful owner/operator of Marilyn Firing Custom Window Designs for over 40 years. Mrs. Firing loved her family and truly enjoyed when they came to visit. She traveled extensively with her husband in their motor home across the United States. Mrs. Firing is survived by her children W. Glenn Firing, Sr. fiancAC. of Sandra G. Gregory of Elon, North Carolina; Michelle L. Keppley, wife of the late John A. Keppley, Jr. with whom she last resided and Todd M. Firing, Sr. fiancAC. of Jamie Palmitessa of Leesport and her 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Maryann Hile of Florida; Patricia Heckman of Coatesville and Nancy Heere of Glenside. Mrs. Firing was preceded in death by her grandson Brandon Firing.
Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 1:30 pm. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Tuesday 12:30-1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bayada Foundation 100 Schaeffer Street, Boyertown, PA 19512 in memory of Mrs. Marilyn J. Firing.
